Vickie

Dear Vickie,
I was extremely fortunate that my surgeon does not believe in forcing you to
lose weight prior to surgery (I gained 8 lbs. from consult to day of
surgery), but many of the surgeons do. My surgeon feels that if we could
just drop the weight like that, we wouldn't need the surgery. He's "real"
about the issues. However, that being said, I know of surgeons who demand
that you lose 10% of your excess weight or just 10 lbs. Whatever the
requirement is, if you don't meet it, they cancel the surgery date until you
do because they figure that if you can't lose the weight, you won't be
compliant afterwards. If that's how your surgeon is thinking, you may get
cancelled if you don't follow his guidelines. I hope that doesn't happen to
you and I wish you the best of luck.
live each day like it's your last... love like you've never been hurt...
