Soybeans? Tofu? - OK in my exp-also asparagus helps relieve-Ph Balance

Helo

In my last three gout warnings and or attacks I have replaced meat with soy & tofu products and have had no ill effects at all. While I do not believe i would ever become a vegeterian, I have modified my diet to be at least 50% vegeterian and have had great results as to Gout. I have found a number of Soy & Tofu products that mirror meat products that are very good and have adjusted to them well, So I now eat a lot of Soy & Tofu every week. (If you have have a Trader Joe's store in your area, check out the Tofurkey and other fake meat products)

Note; studies are showing that cancer in Japan, especially prostrate cancer, does not spread / mestasize as quickly as here in america. It is theorized that the higher concentration of Soy in their diet as that was the difference in their body/blood make-up to ours.

I had read some newer research that legume, asparagus and other sources of either purines & of protien that are plant based are not as likely to trigger gout.

additionally during "warnings" as well as full blown attacks, i have gone to a. alkaline diet and found that for me, I either lessened or got rid of the gout completely. High on the list of foods that help to de-acidify you and return you to a ph balance are asparagus and carrots. Asparagus is usually not recommended for gout, but again, this suggests the new findings that plant based purines do not trigger gout may be true
