Good Morning

I joined this list a couple of days ago, but the list has been quiet! I
would like to pose a question. My mother has gout, and she hasn't been
able to find relief. Does any one have a diet or a type of herb that they
can tell me for her? She has it in her foot, and she can't walk. Any help
would be appreciated.

    Hello Beverly,
LOTS of water from here on out. Cranberry juice and supplements work well
    for me.
    Be Well,
    Tom B.

Hi Tom, what kind of supplements are you taking, and how long does one
bout of gout last for you?

Nothing more painful that a flareup of gout. Has she tried to watch
    something in
her diet that might trigger these attacks? Sometimes shellfish does it. But
    taking
a supplement? I don't know of any -- I think calcium and vitamin C are good
for fending off lots of problems. Tell you Mom good luck, and try to find
    the culprint that brings
    it on.

Well, I know that she had shrimp and liver. Not at the same time, but I
think that's what caused her problem. She said today she felt a little
better. She could put a little more pressure on her foot! Glad to hear
    that!

Good to hear about your Mom, Bev -- those of us who know the pain of not being
able to put an ounce of weight on a foot -- can sympathize. Again, watch
    what one
ingests -- and connect it to what happens.
